Caviar & Art Evening at Sotheby’s
December 22, 2009
When Sotheby’s Zurich office invites its best clients, they sure come. On the 1st of December it was a gathering of art enthusiasts and epicureans alike. The setting of this social event was somewhat palpable and therefore promising: art & caviar.
As kindred spirits do, art & caviar share a common ground. Passion, desire, timelessness, uniqueness and the hypnotic feeling when touched by the devine.
Dr. Claudia Steinfels, Managing Director of Sotheby’s department in Zurich, led through the evening. Our family’s own premium caviar brand ZwyerCaviar got the oportunity to place itself right into focus.
Let me pass along some snapshots of this truly wonderful event in the heart of Zurich and take the oportunity to express our thanks to Dr. Steinfels and her team.
Introducing new webshop
December 22, 2009
Some weeks back I revealed the upcoming new webshop. Now it is my pleasure to inform you that ZwyerCaviar made its next international move – in the web. Our clients can now order their favorite caviar conveniently from our webshop. Delivered to your home or hotel anywhere in Europe – finally! After establishing our selfs successfully within the European Union through branch offices in Paris and Berlin, it is only logic to follow up with international delivery options.
I guess this is great news for some, as unfortunately we had to turn down many orders coming from outside of Switzerland.
I invite you to check out our ZwyerCaviarShop (for deliveries within Switzerland -> zwyercaviarshop.ch; for deliveries within France -> zwyercaviarshop.fr; for the rest -> zwyercaviarshop.com).
The Caviarist wishes a Merry Christmas!

December 17, 2009
Say X-mas, say shopping!
Bvlgari and ZwyerCaviar held a special event in Berlin this december. Shop manager, Mr. Merges, and his team invited their key clients to a special caviar treat. After all, pearls are pearls and jewelry is a good excuse to enjoy caviar. And vice versa.
ZwyerCaviar was represented by Erol Isim, the captain steering ZwyerCaviar Germany.
According to the overwhelming feedback from the guests present, the caviar was…well, try and find out!
Following some pix I want to share with you.

Chile goes caviar?
December 2, 2009
The event is a milestone in perseverance and a great merit for aquaculture researcher from the University of Los Lagos, Dr. Juan Carlos Uribe who has been working for years in the project with resources from Chile’s Development and Promotion Office.
The research and tests begun in 1996 with the purpose of developing an industrial technology to enable the industrial production of sturgeon and the much coveted caviar which is extracted from the fish’s eggs.
“After fifteen years of investigation we had these specimens here and finally they managed to reproduce”, said Uribe from Parral where the experimental farms are located.
“That was the missing step. The project is most interesting for Chile given the price of caviar, and of sturgeon fillets, and even more interesting since it’s a species in extinction process”.
Sturgeon is a considered a living fossil: they have survived since the time of the Dinosaurs having conserved their prehistoric aspect. Fossilized remains have been found in rocks dating back 54 and 40 million years, according to Dr. Uribe
Chilean researchers believe that sturgeon could repeat the “king salmon” experience for Chile. “Now we can move into the commercial stage” said Uribe (…)
