The artist Marilyn Minter created a pretty erotic video. Its – besides caviars erotic sidenote - very far away from anything related to caviar, actually. But the given title of this video (Green Pink Caviar) must be enough reason to post this under the clown fish category…
Madonna decided recently to include this 9min. video into her current Sweet & Sticky tour. It will appear during the opening song ‘Candy Shop’. Source

Here is a very informative youtube video (23min long) about caviar in general. Mostly about the Russian caviar industry and the Caspian Sea (states).
But there is also a short chapter about the Russian artist Andrei Logvin and his caviar-poster mentioned in an earlier post. Watch the video between 4:55 min – 6:25min…

If have already introduced snail caviar from france and mentioned its availability at Harrods.
According to the video, snail eggs can reach up to 4mm in diameter. Impressive. That’s somewhere between beluga and keta kaviar. And I have to admit that the eggs seem to look that way afterall. A bit ‘artificial’ maybe, but it definitely makes me wonder how moos tastes in the mouth…Hopefully I can lay my hands on them soon!

This is a good example of getting independency. If you are running a marine laboratory and its costly research costs are giving you a headache, then why not breeding sturgeons by yourself and selling their high-valued roe on the market in order to support the institutional costs?
And that’s what Mote, a marine laboratory based in Florida, is doing since 1997. Breeding sturgeon. And since 2006 selling caviar from the russian and siberian sturgeon. This seems to be a helping hand for this independently run and nonprofit lab. It is active in the field of aquacultural research and has an education programm and even an aquarium to offer.

For our guests who prefered to enjoy the ambient inside our CaviarDome instead of putting their health at risk with the freezing wind conditions outside, here’s a video showing the final game between Brioni and Julius Bär. And at the end an interview with 10-goaler Pablo McDonough, who played on snow for his first time!
Just click on the ‘St. Moritz’ button and the Windows Media Player does the rest…

I wrote about this project in some previous posts already. But as a Swiss TV channel was airing recently a short sequence about this undertaking I want to share this with my fellow readers.
The animation of the plant looks indeed promising. I hope so, with an investment of aprox. 30Mio. CHF. It shows a glimpse of the future of Swiss caviar. According to the video the full annual caviar production volume will be around 3 tons. I admit that I am not sad at all that Frutigen is still many years away until it reaches any industrial scale. But somehow I can’t wait and am very curious about its caviar. I sure will taste and judge it when the day comes.

Sturgeons major surviving problem besides poaching, overfishing and the dams and hydroelectric power plants that block their natural trails when going into the river systems is another black gold: OIL. The hunt for new oil reserves seems to vindicate every kind of collateral damage done against nature these days. After all its about the prospect of changing the balance of power in the world. And that’s enough reason for many to continue their efforts in turning the Caspian Sea into a cesspool!
It is frustrating to observe the sheer incompetence of the international community in preventing this disaster – or worse: supporting it. Since many years the births of humans around the coastline of the Caspian Sea are showing abnormalisms, cancer rate is skyrocketing and the water is extremely polluted.
Here some Youtube videos to share:
In this light, the 5 year long ban regarding sturgeon fishing, which starts next year, seems to be a tinny attempt in finding a future for this ancient fish.
And one might think twice about consuming wild caviar from the Caspian Sea after knowing this. A much safer bet is premium farmed caviar!

Honeymooners: Champagne & Caviar
When inviting the boss for dinner, Ralph and Alice are having an argument over champagne and caviar.
A funny TV show that was popular back in the 50’s.
